E11even - Pinot Noir!

Andrew Murray Pinot Noir

If you are familiar with wine from the Santa Barbara region, no doubt you have some familarity with Mr Rhone, otherwise known as Andrew Murray Vineyards. Andrew Murray has been a posterboy for high quality Syrah and other Rhone varietals for more than 20 years.

It might be difficult for some outside of the region to talk about Santa Barbara without the mention of Sideways, Merlot, or Pinot Noir. Some may recall a scene in the movie that mentioned the lone Syrah that the Pinot Noir loving Miles was excited about.....if you guessed Andrew Murray Vineyards, that is correct!

Bringing it all together now Andrew Murray has tossed his hat into the Pinot Noir world. The diverse climate of Santa Barbara County allow for nearly any varietal to shine with high quality, and Pinot Noir is no stranger to the long list of stars.

Pinot Noir

I would suggest, most anyone that is a fan of Andrew Murray Vineayards Syrahs', (and there are a lot with such fast sell outs) is going to love his E11even Pinot Noir from Santa Maria Valley. This could be called a Syrah lovers Pinot Noir, and not for the whimpy with lots of backbone. Big lush red driven fruits of cherry and currants, with maybe even a hint of black fruit. Nice baking spices of clove and nutmeg. This is a high power Pinot Noir, but not over the top, but after all, it has to maintain its reputation as an '11.' The E11even wines have another movie refrence, "This is Spinal Tap."

The E11even series wines are not meant for underground wine caves or white gloved dinners. These fun approachable wines are meant for everyone on anyday at a reachable price ($16). Crack one open for your family gatherings , parties and BBQ's.

Pilaged from AMV's site - "The net result?  Just one better, just one louder, than a 10…an 11.  So invite some pals over, put on some great music, pour some great wine, and Let’s Rock!
