A few weeks ago, Bill Eyer, AKA @Cuvee_Corner tweeted about #occupysyrah. It sounded interesting, and as a big time Rhone wine lover, I was intrigued. I quickly got behind this wine movement. Think of me as the bar back in the movement.

As far as politics goes, that is a whole different thing, and we'll leave that for the evening news. This is about Syrah and simply has a catchy name. Marie Payton of #winechat had things lined up for Shiraz and Suzanne Barros from Wines of Austraila. It seemed simply synergistic to drink Shiraz/Syrah, and have some fun together!

#Occupysyrah is between 4 PM - 8 PM PST tonight. #winechat normal times of 6-7 PST will be discussion much of Shiraz. Drink what you like, but I'll have both Shiraz and Syrah in my glass. Use hashtag #occupysyrah for the duration of the evening. 

I wish I could tell you I've been braising an osso bucco for hours to pair with my Syrah/Shiraz, but this is crazy holiday time, and I'll be real. I won't pretend with some hijacked photo of a beautiful plated dish. My wife is bringing something home. I just hope it pairs! No matter what, I'll be with good freinds, family, and drinking good Syrah and Shiraz!
